Zanzibar Beach Photography
5 Days ago, something beautiful happened. With a long series of late-season storms and a sloppy 3 inches of mushy snow lingering about, you might never have seen it coming. But it came. Summer in Lake Tahoe.
When quitting time rolled around yesterday, we got our butts out of our office chairs. We headed straight to the Lake. Seasons are usually slow to change. Not this time. As we hopped and scrambled over and around lakeside boulders, it occurred to me that this was the first time we’d been in shorts since the beaches of Zanzibar.
That’s when images began flooding back. Images like these. Turquoise waters several shades lighter than those of Lake Tahoe. And about 20 degrees warmer. Memories close at hand from a world now far away.
